WMMHTW

• One of my kiddos, who when I said they should be there for our last week, "because there will be treats and fun," said "like Christmas?" and I replied, "no, but still fun." He barely took a second to reply, "I think it's Christmas."
• Taking slightly scary risks and getting out of my comfort zone. I don't know yet if it's making me that happy, but it might just.
• I learned a Nepalese game, and was actually pretty good at it.

I think the theme this week is simple things, because in a lot of ways this has been a hard week. Not personally, but I don't think anyone would say the news has been upbeat at all.

Grilled Cheese and Other Randomness: WMMHTW

• Today is National Grilled Cheese Day! I'm off to make a tasty one now.
• A random scholarship showed up in my student account. I'm not banking on it quite yet, but it seems like good things are happening to keep the future grad school affordable.
• Vacuums. Seriously, no one could have carpet if it wasn't for vacuums. And I don't even like carpet, but if I have it, a functional vacuum will certain make me happy.

What's Making Me Happy This Week

Inspired by one of my favorite podcasts (NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour) I thought I'd start sharing things I've enjoyed the past week.

• Redesigning and refocusing this blog.
• Obama and Kid President meeting - because, really there isn't any wrong that Kid President can do.
• Mapping long road trips. Though to be honest, I do that most weeks. But this is for one that I know I will be taking. So it's extra special.
• Getting to share with fundraisers about the programs I do at work. I love this kiddos I work with, so it was a lot of fun to share all about them
• This book - The Winter Harvest Handbook - The writing is clear, concise  yet still extremely engaging. It's really been inspiring in a very simple manner to think about season extension.
